Dr. Roger Solomon is a psychologist and psychotherapist specializing in the areas of trauma and grief. He is on the Senior Faculty of the EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Institute and provides basic and advanced EMDR training internationally. He currently consults with the US Senate, NASA, and several law enforcement.

This podcast is an overview of a workshop Roger Solomon PhD presented at EMDR & Beyond.

In this workshop, Dr Solomon focused on integrating EMDR therapy into the treatment of grief and mourning in order to process the disturbing and present triggers that complicate the bereavement and enable the mourner to assimilate and accommodate the loss. The processes the mourner has to go through for adaptive resolution, factors that can complicate bereavement, and how EMDR can be integrated into an overall treatment plan will be discussed.  Attachment theory and other models of grief will be presented that can inform EMDR therapy, with emphasis placed on the analysis of the clinical material.  Format to included lecture, live demonstrations and videotapes of cases.
